Heading south from Redcar following the King Charles III England Coast Path, you’ll finish in the beautiful fishing town of Whitby. You’ll pass the ‘Circle’ sculpture in between miles 7 and 8. Affectionately known as The Charm Bracelet, it’s name inspired the marathon. You’ll pass through coastal villages, run on the sand, watch the world from high up on the cliffs, and immerse yourself in everything the Cleveland Way has to offer.

For 2025 we have chosen to support Refuge. Refuge is the largest single provider of specialist services to survivors of domestic, sexual and gender-based abuse in the UK.
1 in 4 women will experience domestic abuse at some point in their lifetime and on average two women are killed each week in England and Wales by a current or former partner.
On any given day Refuge services support thousands of women and their children, helping them to overcome the physical, emotional, financial and logistical impacts of abuse and rebuild their lives — free from fear.

The Charm Bracelet Marathon is a trail running event, so don’t expect it to be easy under foot. You will encounter mud, sand, rocks, trees, and more mud! The event is also suitable for quick walkers.
There is 3263 ft of elevation over the 26.57 mile route, so if you’re looking for a nice flat race this one probably isn’t for you..

Optional coach transport from Whitby to Redcar for the START of the event is £18.50
Entrance fee includes a finishers medal, water, snacks, and soft drinks at four aid stations.

Trophies for 1st male, 1st female, 1st non-binary, 1st FV50, 60 & 70, and 1st MV50, 60 & 70.
We are proudly working with Trees Not Tees to give you the option of planting a tree instead of taking a tee. You’ll also have the option of paying to plant a tree as well as having a finishers t-shrt.

Bookings may be transferred/sold to another runner, providing this is done no later than 4 weeks before the event. This can be done via our booking partner, Si Entries.
You may defer your entry ONCE to the following year.
We cannot make any amendments to entries once entries close 3 weeks before the event.
We do not offer refunds under any circumstances. You may choose to protect your booking with XCover when you first sign up.

Will we received a race pack email?
We will be emailing your bib number and final details three weeks before the race, along with a printable route map and description which will include details of the checkpoints. Kit List available to download HERE
Do you have a cutoff time?
Yes, we are allowing 10 hours to complete the course. We will have tail runners to support you to the finish.
Are dogs allowed?
Due to the agricultural nature of the Cleveland Way, we are not allowing dogs on the course.
Are walkers allowed?
Yes, absolutely. Cath and Tim, your happy team of organisers both started off as walkers, and remain very keen walkers. As long as you’re able to complete the course in under 10 hours you are welcome to walk the route.
How old do you have to be to enter?
We are accepting runners over the age of 18
Will there be check points along the route?
Yes, there are four marshaled check points.
How do we get back to Redcar?
We are encouraging the use of public transport in order to be as environmentally friendly as possible. There are regular trains and buses from Whitby to Redcar, and we will put train and bus times in the final details email, approximately four weeks before the event.
Do you have a bag drop?
You are welcome to leave a bag with us to meet you in Whitby. Please make sure this is just one single bag as we won't have the capacity for more than one per person. Please also ensure your bag is sufficiently labelled with your name and phone number.
Do you have insurance and first aid?
Yes we do! First aid will be available on the day if needed.
Can I bring supporters?
You can, but please be aware that due to the elevation on the route, it may be wise to ask your supporters to see you from the low-laying towns along the route. Please be considerate with parking.

Cath & Tim first met as children in 1991, so we go back a long way!
Tim is a highly experienced ultra runner, with a huge passion for the outdoors. He works as a nurse in the NHS, loves chocolate, and hates coffee.
Cath is a marathon runner and loves being in the great outdoors. She is a professional photographer, loves chocolate, and LOVES coffee..
As runners who started off as walkers, and who are still very keen walkers, we wanted to make our event as inclusive as possible, with a cut off long enough to allow it to be walked if running isn’t your thing.
From the first to cross the line, to the final finisher, we’ll be cheering you all on - you’re all equally important to us!
